| Cars Off Road Equivalent Per Annum |
This is a calculation of the equivalent number of cars that would need to be removed from the roads, on an annual basis, to have the same impact as the Greenhouse Gas emissions avoided by the CfD project being operational for a year, in comparison to non-green energy generation. This is a calculation of the equivalent number of homes which could be powered for a year by the annual generation of each CfD project. This is based on a Typical Domestic Consumption Value of 2,700 kWh as per Ofgem's estimation - Average gas and electricity usage | Ofgem |

We calculate the total electricity generated by CfD-supported power plants (e.g., wind farms) and estimate their carbon emissions across their entire lifecycle, from construction to decommissioning. These emissions are compared to the amount of carbon the National Grid would emit to produce the same amount of electricity. The difference gives the avoided emissions achieved by the CfD portfolio. |
